When the sun starts to show its face at the beginning of spring, the coasts of Brittany witness the Ploumanach Peninsula emerging from hibernation. The Peninsula has become a holiday town popular in summer and every corner of this Peninsula reflects a distinctive color of Atlantic Ocean.

Sightseeing Places

Le Mont St. Michel

It is famous for its monastery built on an islet which is 80 meters above the sea level. The island which is in the middle of the sea, remains on its own in the midst of sands as the water subsides as a result of the tides. There are old houses at the sides of the streets heading towards the monastery. Today, these houses are turned into hotels and stores where souvenirs are sold.

Perros Guirec

There is a fishing port and a marina in the town. You may swim in the beaches of Trestrou and Trestignel.

Armorica (Armorique)

In the region which is called as “Golden Arch” thanks to the richness of its agricultural products, the markets of the town present rich and colorful choices. The route of 4 kilometres between Lieue de Grève Beach and St-Efflam, and Locquirec shall provide you with spectacular views.

Ploumanach

This small fishing town is located on the mouth of Traoiéros Vallet and the most beautiful view can be seen from the lighthouse. The beach is at the coast of St-Guirec Gulf.

Roscoff

It is one of the most visited places of Brittany. The most important feature of the town is the “thalassoterapy” centers. Here, such diseases as circulatory disorders, stress are cured with the help of sea water and seafood. You should add Charles Pérez Aquarium to your travel list. The first floor of the aquarium is allocated to oceanographic and biological researches. You can go to Batz Island with sea travel lasting for 20 minutes from here.

Plouescat The beaches of Poulfoen, Frounden, Pors Meur and Pors Guen and the coast of Kernic Gulf are ideal for swimming. You may visit the chateau among the chestnut trees which is a kilometer away from this little coastal town and which dates back to 17th century.
